Towards a disability inclusive COVID-19 response and recovery: learning from practice

There has been a growing focus on delivering development programmes that are disability-inclusive. But there is still not enough evidence about best practices.

This event, held to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December 2020, highlighted some of the emerging findings and successes from the FCDO’s flagship disability inclusive programmes.

It included:

  • Disability-related costs and the role of social protection in responding to COVID-19, led by London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, PENDA consortium lead
  • Disability-inclusive responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, led by Sightsavers, Inclusive Futures consortium lead
  • Supporting persons with disabilities as part of the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, led by Leonard Cheshire, Innovation to Inclusion consortium lead
