Towards a disability inclusive COVID-19 response and recovery: learning from practice

There has been a growing focus on delivering development programmes that are disability-inclusive. But there is still not enough evidence about best practices.

This event, held to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, highlighted some of the emerging findings and successes from the FCDO’s flagship disability inclusive programmes.

It included:

  • Disability-related costs and the role of social protection in responding to COVID-19, led by London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, PENDA consortium lead
  • Disability-inclusive responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, led by Sightsavers, Inclusive Futures consortium lead
  • Supporting persons with disabilities as part of the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, led by Leonard Cheshire, Innovation to Inclusion consortium lead
