International Disability Alliance (IDA)

The International Disability Alliance (IDA) is a network of 14 global and regional organisations of persons with disabilities, advocating at the United Nations for a more inclusive global environment for everyone.

We support organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) to hold their governments to account and advocate for change locally nationally and internationally, with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as the cornerstone of our work.

As a partner in the Inclusive Futures consortium programme, we monitor and support CRPD compliance and meaningful engagement of OPDs, including under-represented groups; and produce and jointly advocate for models that are compliant with the CRPD.

We’re involved in the consortium because…

Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

“...we frame inclusive practices in compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).”

Represent and advocate

“...we represent the voices of people with disabilities and advocate for system level change.”

Monitor and empower

“...we monitor progress in organisations of persons with disabilities (OPD) engagement to empower the disability movement.”
